More than $520,000 Awarded to Centre County Infrastructure Projects

HARRISBURG – Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) and Rep. Paul Takac (D-82) announced that more than $520,000 has been awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to two Centre County infrastructure projects.

$319,176 was awarded to Mountaintop Regional Water Authority to install three water meter vaults in Snow Shoe Borough.

Another $200,960 was awarded to Monument Water Authority for upgrades in Liberty Township.

“In our modern world we often take for granted that our water will always be there when we turn on a faucet, but it takes a lot of work to ensure that’s the case,” said Dush. “I was glad to team up with Rep. Takac to help get this important project funding that’s necessary for these Centre County communities to have safe, reliable local water infrastructure.”

“Investments in infrastructure often happen in the background but they are critical to ensuring basic services such as safe, clean water for everyone, and that is true regardless of political affiliation,” said Takac. “Working across the aisle with Sen. Dush to deliver funding for these projects stands as an example of what we can accomplish when we put politics aside and put people first. I am delighted to help secure this funding for these essential infrastructure projects in Centre County.”

Overall, Senator Dush and Representative Takac have partnered to help bring over $1 million to critical drinking water and emergency services projects in Centre County. “Representative Takac and I are both new legislators for Centre County. I’m glad that we agree that working together to help bring funds to communities in need is more important than party affiliation,” said Dush. “I look forward to teaming up with Representative Takac more in the future to help bring funds to the communities in the new 25th Senate District and 82nd House District.”

The water infrastructure project dollars are Local Share Account funds, with that funding created by the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 71 of 2004), which provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects in the public interest within Pennsylvania.
