Senator Dush Responds to Oral Arguments in Election Subpoena Case

HARRISBURG – Senator Cris Dush (R-25) issued the following statement today following oral arguments in the lawsuit against the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee’s election integrity investigation:

“Our election investigation is a legitimate function of Senate operations, is well within the legislature’s authority, and will ultimately help restore the public’s faith in our elections. I appreciated the opportunity for our legal team to make all these points in court today.

“The idea that the investigation jeopardizes personal information in any way is simply false and is another attempt to perpetuate fear among Pennsylvanians. Our contract follows the same protocols the Department of State uses with its own third-party vendors to protect voter information. Abiding by the protections already established by the Department of State ensures consistency in our efforts and should give the people confidence as we proceed in securing free and fair elections for all Pennsylvanians.

“I look forward to advancing our thoughtful, responsible, fact-driven investigation to improve our election system in the near future.”
