Senator Dush Provides Update on Election Integrity Investigation

HARRISBURG – Senator Cris Dush (R-Jefferson) provided an update today on the status of the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee’s effort to conduct a thoughtful, responsible review of recent elections.

The Attorney General and Senate Democrats sought to block the committee’s lawful subpoena for information necessary to begin an election integrity investigation. On Friday, Senate Republicans will respond to the Democrats’ spurious claims and flimsy legal arguments with a legal brief in defense of the legislature’s clear statutory and Constitutional authority to provide oversight of the state’s election system.

If subpoenas from legislative bodies were fit to be ignored, President Biden would not have said last week that people who refuse Congressional subpoenas should be prosecuted, Dush said.

“Our filing on Friday is scheduled as part of an expedited review petition to the court that is designed to resolve the court case as quickly as possible,” Dush said.

Details about the filing will be available at www.PAElectionInvestigation.com.
