Dush Announces Grants for Water Cleanup Projects in 25th Senatorial District

Harrisburg — Senator Cris Dush said today that state grants have been approved for water cleanup projects in the 25th Senatorial District.

The following project was awarded a grant by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection through the Growing Greener Plus program:

Jefferson County

  • Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Brokenstraw Creek Watershed Protection Phase III, $200,932

In addition, two Abandoned Mine Drainage Set-Aside grants were approved:

Elk County

  • Headwaters Charitable Trust, Toby Creek Blue Valley AMD Operation and Maintenance, $251,400
  • Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Oxic Limestone Bed Maintenance and Performance, $331,978

Growing Greener funds projects that protect open space, clean up abandoned mines and restore watersheds, provide funds for recreational trails and local parks, and help communities provide new and upgraded water and sewer systems.
